CamBox (hereinafter referred to as "the Application") values your privacy. This policy explains how we handle data generated during your use of the Application.
1. Data Collection and Usage
The core functionality of this Application is local recording and record-keeping. We follow a "Local-First" principle:
- Video and Image Data: All recordings (.mp4) and thumbnails (.jpg) are stored on your mobile device's local storage, or in a custom SAF storage path you specify.
- Database Records: Your shipment records, order numbers, and timestamps are stored in the device's local database.
- We Do Not Collect Media: The developer's servers will not actively collect, store, or access any of your media content.
2. Device Permissions
To provide full functionality, the Application requests the following permissions:
- Camera: For recording video and scanning barcodes.
- Microphone: For recording audio in videos.
- Storage: For creating folders and saving video files.
- Local Network: Used only when the "LAN Remote Control" feature is enabled, for communicating with devices on the local network.
3. Third-Party Services and Sync
If you use the cloud sync features provided by the Application:
- Sync Targets: Including Google Drive, PikPak, WebDAV, pCloud, etc.
- Data Transfer: Data is transmitted directly from your device to the third-party service provider via encrypted communication.
- Account Information: Third-party login credentials (such as tokens) stored by the Application are encrypted and kept in local secure storage. The developer cannot access your account passwords.
4. LAN Remote Control (CamBox Connect)
When you use this feature, the Application creates a local web server:
- The server is accessible only within the local network.
- Transmitted content includes live preview images and operation commands.
- Please ensure your Wi-Fi environment is secure to prevent unauthorized access within the local network.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
You can remove recording records and local files at any time via the delete button in the Application. If you uninstall the Application, data stored in the protected sandbox (internal app storage) will be automatically cleared by the system; files stored in external public directories (such as DCIM or custom folders) may remain and must be deleted manually.
6. Policy Updates
We may update this privacy policy at any time. Updated versions will be published within the Application. Continued use of the service constitutes your acceptance of this privacy policy.
If you have any questions, please contact the developer through the feedback feature in the Application.
